reading xml fileds through ipl.

we have a DCT, lets say master DCT. We pass the DCR/XML path in the master DCT and on save of that DCT it should call an ipl file.The ipl file then reads the XML file passed(there can be multiple XML files) and pick the fileds intended and paste it in the master DCR that gets created from the master DCT.

can any one please help in achieving this.I mean from where to call the ipl in the master DCT aand how to then pass the DCR value passed in master DCR to the ipl. How can we read the fields then from the DCR passed and return it back to the master DCT.

LIke RV said, parsing a DCR or XML is trivial in perl.

However your requirements and/or use case make no sense.

This needs to be completely thought out, because if you actually can implement what you said, it will be a mess.

FWIW, trying to, on a save event, read a lot more XML, importing it and then resaving is error prone at best. There are other ways to do this.

Take some training, consider doing this in a workflow or a TPL (if you use it).
