branch vpath-regex issue

I have a templating.cfg that contains the following:

The "login" item needs to display when you go to "file -> new form entry" when you are in the systemA branch and "academic-calendar" needs to display when you are in the systemB branch; however both items display for both systems. As you may have guessed, I am very new to Teamsite. Is there a way to lock down a datatype for one branch or another?

Providing that corresponding Types exist only in their respective Branches, you can try pruning. Like this:

The problem is that both systems contain the "portal" category. I suppose we could change the category name for one or both, but was hoping there was a way around that.

To make Boris's point a bit more clear - if you modify the root element of your templating.cfg to contain the highlighted code:

<templating prune-missing-files="t">
 ...
</templating>

Then you can change all your location regex's from:

...
  <location>
    <branch vpath-regex="systemA" />
    <branch vpath-regex="systemB" />
  </location>
  ...

to just this:

...
  <location>
    <branch vpath-regex=".*" />
  </location>
  ...

This will ensure that TS only shows you choices for data-types that actually exist within the current workarea.

Thanks, all. I tried specifying the branch vpath-regex under both the datatype and then again under presentation and that seems to work ok.
