checkbox | default value

Hi,

When checkbox is selected than a value is assigned to checkbox. Is there any provision by which when the check box is not selected then also I should be able to assign value to it.

For eg.
When checkbox is selected value should be '1'
When checkbox is not selected default value should be '0'

why not just use a radio button with Yes/No options and No being the default, where No=0 and Yes=1 (or a dropdown would work too).. formAPI would definately work.. but the above does not require any coding

I am agree with you jrandallnyc. Radio button is easiest and fast implementation.
From my experience I know some time client required just check boxes and that it. After that is only one way - JavaScript.

agreed.. and then one would probably use a hidden field to store the value and do an OnSaveValid event handler to look thru all those checkboxes and set the hidden value(s) as needed.
