how to kill more than one workflow jobs

Hi
I want to end more than one(say about 100) wokflows jobs which has same job names. Is there a command to do that on the command line or thru Teamsite GUI?
Please let me know. Thanks.

There's a command in iw-home/bin called iwrmjob. You can try to use that to remove the jobs, but you won't be able to do it by name since it is looking for the workflow id. You can try to get the workflow id's through the name, then loop through it and passing the workflow id to remove.

For a hundred jobs, use the GUI. It will take a half hour. You can write a script, I have done that before but have no idea where it is. The time would be about the same but when you write a script you take the chance that you overshoot and remove something you really did not want to.

I'd suggest writing a script if you are comfortable in doing so - you can either use iwqueryjobs or utilize Perl or Java classes for interacting with the workflow system for identifying the jobs that correspond to your query in order to then end them with iwrmjob or similar.

Given the lack of being able to select multiple jobs in the GUI to perform a single action (like End Job) - trying to do this for 100 jobs in the GUI (which takes two clicks each - one to select the job to end it, the second to confirm that you want to end it - not to mention waiting for redraws and such) would be my method of last resort.

I was assuming that there are a number of jobs he does not want to delete, so the chance of removing something incorrectly could be significant. Really we have no idea how accurately a script could be written since we have no idea on the parameters.

If you want to delete all the active jobs on your server, a script is the way to go.

If you want to delete some of the jobs on your server, doing it manually is probably less apt to cause you further problems. Once you delete a job, it's gone. There's no getting it back.

What if you have a user that posts right after you do with mindless comments to just increase his post count to finally get out of the level he has been stuck on for several years ? Of course I just gave him a reason to post again. D**N
