I have recently changed some permission’s on our server with respect to work areas. I removed access from the “everyone” group. I restricted access to our work areas. The work areas access is shared with a particular group that is made up of TeamSite Editors.

Both the owner and the group have full rights to the work area as shown below.

LowesComNG_EditorGroup Full Control(RWXDPO)
TestTSEditorOne Full Control(RWXDPO)

Now when the work area owner or a member of the sharing group attempt to preview or generate from a template they get error 4 or error 5 or error 6.

I’ve looked at KB’s and posts and have followed them. KB 59287: I have impersonate_without_password=false. KB 60036: set the appropriate setting in autoprivate.cfg.

I have run iwrest –a.

We continue to get these errors.

The following is from the iwutild_cmdout.log

Could not open manifest: Y:\default\main\lowescomNG\WORKAREA\SPandey\templatedata\preview\zz_tst_spandey_0_manifest

Could not open presentation template: Y:\default\main\lowescomNG\WORKAREA\Test_TS_Editor_Workarea\templatedata\structured content\video asset\presentation\generate_video_content.tpl

Could not open presentation template: Y:\default\main\lowescomNG\WORKAREA\Test_TS_Editor_Workarea\templatedata\structured content\flex form\presentation\generate_flex_content.tpl

I’m not sure what else to do. Am wondering if there is an issue with the /templatedata/preview folder?

Any thoughts or suggestions?

On TeamSite 6.7.1.0 on a windows box

What are the roles users and members of that WorkArea are having ?
Check Manage Roles Under the Administration Tab for the corresponding role's permissions.
Majorly Check for Permissions that are given under the Heading "Files, Forms and Folders "
Whatever role they are having correspondingly they should have the these permissions

Note:: If users are having multiple roles then they should have permissions to let's say[color=Black] "preview" for all roles.[/color]

I have had to revert most of the changes made to iw.cfg. I am now back to near normalcy. However, support was unable to help me find a root cause and/or configurations that would allow me to move from my present model to my desired model.

I am now experiencing some compilation issues and getting error code 6 when using certain templates. We will work through this. I do find it interesting that the error dialog box points us to iwutild.log when this situation never writes to that log. I always find entries in iwutild_cmdout.log error and iwevents.log. It would be nice if the error messages thrown could reference the correct log.

It also apears that the ubiquitous error codes 4, 5 and 6 are not documented very well - in fact support told me that they can reference many issues. Could we not have a list of those?
