VisualFormat Question

This is a repost of my previous message that got all messed up. Basically, I'm trying to use VF on a textarea field to capture html data to be used as the body of a news article. When we go into the ViewSource mode and enter the html, a "/" is being appended to the front of the paths used for the src attribute of an img tag (see attached). I've looked through the VF manual, but can't find how to resolve. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
