I am currently working on TeamSite 6.5 SP3.

I have to requirement to create Custom Menu Item, but this should be visible only for a specific branch.

I know that we can control custom menu item based on role, is it possible to create one for specific branch?

No, not in 6.5 anyway. You can certainly check what you want within the script and render some Error Page back if needed

I think Interwoven should consider adding this feature to TS future releases.Personally more than one client that i've been to asked for it. I also noticed a few posts mentioning the same.

File a feature request with IWOV then and post FR Id. If enough people join it Interwoven may consider implementation

This is already possible in TeamSite 6.7.1. You just create a role that is assigned only to that branch that includes your custom menu item.

I will take Borris suggestion for now (TS 6.5 SP3) and work on Bill's suggestion in TS 6.7.1 which is 'hopefully' in place by first quarter next year.

No, it's not. You still can not introduce Branch constraints in 6.7 Menus. Doing it through custom roles is just a workaround.
For the same token I can create 'black' and 'silver' roles and claim that in 6.7 it's possible to control User access by the
color of his laptop.

Semantics, but I don't think this would be classified as a workaround.

Adding a custom menu item is considered a custom user operation that I am making visible within the user interface according to methods made available through the customer toolkit configuration. If I can control that operation by role, and apply that role only to the branch or branches I want the item to appear in, I consider that working as designed by Interwoven.
