Publishing multiple content components into the same region

Hello there,

 

I have 2 different sites, each with various regions. I'd like to publish multiple content components into the same region and thus each component would be published on different times. If I understand this correctly this is not possible through multiple content items below the site channel, as everything is happening on 2 independent pages. More or less I'd like to manage the content components on those 2 sites similar to a digital signage product. Is this possible without much hassle?

Jared,

If I understand the requirement correctly, You should be able to do this via some code and additional metadata in Content Items to display.

E.g. the Content Item can have an attribute called display datetime, this time indicate when light is turned on for a content on site.

You will need to publish content sometime before display datetime, it will show-up when the current time is greater than ci's display datetime (via a logic check in displayview (can be done in region layout as well)). You will want to have a very low TTL for the components (or even 0 TTL) so caching doesn't interfere with display.
