workflow should provide an option to choose a target directory

Hi
I have a requirement like the workflow needs to provide an option to select a target directory to deploy the files to prod environment.
I can provide target directory option using Tag_info directive,but how do i know about all the target directories on production to display options for this target directory filed?
can i write a perl script to dynamically update this target directory field according to the branch?
i want to know whether this can be achievable? or it's not a valid requirement.

please give me suggestions if you have any to get this done.

So, what you are using WFT or WFM?

With WFT, you have to write perl script and pick the deployment directory value from workflow instantiation screen. Those directory should be defined in odbase.xml file.

With WFM, you can define a configurable variable in deployment task's od variable.

I can get the target directory value whatever user has entered from workflow instantiator screen, but the problem is how would i know about the target directories from which user can select and how would i define those target directories in odbase.xml dynamically? suppose one person can select the target as var/OpenDeployNg,some can select var/tmp,some can select usr/tmp etc.
how would i dynamically populate those values into odbase.xml?

Its not possible to populate dynamically allowed directories into odbase.xml, all the allowed directories must be defined prior to running OpenDeploy, once you make change into odbase you need to restart opendeploy for its reflection.
The better way is that you first identify the base directories where the deployment take place. if the base directory is same for other path then you simply define the parent directory as allowed directory, all the child directories automatically comes under it.
Now, set the target path as variable in deployment config file which you used for deployment.
