Is it possible to approve from email without loging into teamsite. In other words can i have approve button in email and user can click on it to approve it, without using teamsite interface to approve it.
I know we can do this using visual annotation. But i don't want to use visual annotation.

As per my understanding its wont possible without using teamsite interface to approve a task from email. You can do one thing in email that provide the Approve / Reject links in email that will open the particular task. For this you have to write codes in mailnotification.xsl file which is used for sending email.

In general, the answer is "no" - if you're going to interact with TS, you need to be authenticated with TS.

There have been some implementations (I believe Smitty worked on one, perhaps Wally knows about it) where they set up some sort of mailbox to which actions from other emails went, and then they get processed by some sort of daemon that then performs the command on the sender's behalf - but I'm pretty sure this wouldn't be considered a trivial thing to do.
