Search not working with dd/MM/yyyy format

I have set the date format as dd/MM/yyyy.
However Search is not working with this format. Any idea why?
Date format is set correctly in datacapture.cfg and FieldMapping.xml,in the regional setting it is set in dd/MM/yyyy.
Also I ran indxpurgebr and iwndxaddbr.
It was working fine with US format.

how is the date format set for Interwoven. Modified date for all files is coming in MM/dd/yyyy format though in the regional setting it is set in dd/MM/yyyy
I am using TS 6.7.2. SP1
