how to capture the content area of a template

i have a template.i want to get that area of the template for printer friendly functionality just as we have for all sites what we get when we click the print function. In html we have the content to be printed inside a div so how can we place or call a template in livesite.

Templates has itself no area.If we are adding 3 components to a template then the total area of templates in terms of width and height will the total of all the component's width and height.

Where you want to place or call a template.A template/s can be only called/placed on the page itself.

Basically templates are for saving the development time of a site.

Example:

Let's say that we have a site with a Header , LeftNav and Footer.It has 10 pages. We have three components

Hedaer
LeftNav
Footer

Now as we need to place these component on all 10 pages so we have two options for developing that site :

Option-1

Add all three to each page.(time consuming task, not recommended)

Option-2

Create a template set all three component on that, and on each page just you have to inherit that template only and your page is ready.

Now this is for what templates exists.

I thing your requirement is that creating a printer friendly version of a page such that the page is reformatted with different fonts and colours making it more appropriate for output to a printer.

A relatively simple solution, which has little processing overhead, makes use of a second cascading style sheet (css) to re-arrange the page so that menu bars, side bars etc are not displayed and that text is printed with the required fonts and colours.

In second css, make those like this which you we want not to print.

}

Those who you want to print keep it same or set require font and size.

Now add the both the css file in the head of your page.

When you click Print, the second stylesheet will automatically re-format the document and you will have a printed version matching that style sheet.

You may also want to add a Javascript link on your page to call the print routine.
