Drop-down box get label problem

I have a drop-down that is been formed
< select>
< option label="One Tree Hill" , value="onetreehill" />
< option label="Big Brother" , value="bigbrother" />
< /select>

now I want to acces the label of the this drop down box.. if i do iwpt_dcr_value, i get the value. How do i get the label??

I hope u see why i need the label, as I need the formatted label. Help up if u can. I tried javascript but failed coz nto to used to JS...
