How to go back to the other workarea/store in Teamsite

Hi,

I am invoking on a CGI form in TeamSite where the CGI contains one text field along with browse button. When ever I clickd on 'Browse' button, I am invoking a java script function. The java script function contains the following code.

The ceiling directory contains the default workarea path , ceiling contains the /(to go back to the other stores) and '_doBrowseCallback' function is used to assaign the selected value to text box.
I am opeing that url in window.open() method. By using this it is opeing a window properly with the default workarea path. But I am not able to go back to the other workarea.

Please suggest me where I am doing wrong. I am using TeamSite 6.5.

"browse_for_link" Command does not allow you to navigate below "root", eg your vpath. You can only navigate within this Path.

In what context are you attempting to do this selection?

Also include information about what version of TeamSite and other Interwoven products you are using (including service pack and patch level information).

IMO the best way to achieve something like that is to code your own browser. Clean and TS-Consistent GUI is not
trivial to code though. If you want to go this route look for the Custom "Cross-Path" Browser by Gzevin (adapted
for 6.7 by Nipper, I believe), see if you can leverage it.

Less drastic approach that *may* work in your case is perhaps to create two-panel(Frames?) Window. List Branches/WAs
in some shape/form on the left Panel and upon user selection render 'browse_for_link' Command with the corresponding
vpath in the right Panel, etc

Is this for CCPro or CCStd?
What do you intend to do with this file after selecting it?
Are you sure you need a browse function as opposed to using Search?

Are you sure you need to bring up the validations CGI before selecting a file? Might it not be reasonable to select the file(s) first (using standard CCPro navigation and selection mechanisms) and then invoke your custom menu item to perform validations?

If you can do the latter, it's pretty trivial to go through the FORM variables and find the pre-selected files. Otherwise I think you're basically looking at what Boris was indicating - writing your own browsing facility pretty much from scratch (unless you can get Greg's code to work for you)
