Check preview mode from XSLT

I need to check whether the user is in preview mode or generate mode.
In tpl presentation template i could use my
$previewornot = iwpt_get_flag_param('-oprefix');
$previewornot = "preview" if $previewornot =~ /zz.*/;

However the same is not working when using XSLT presentation template,.
Is this function in perl...how can i know user has done a preview in XSLT.
