Resource DCR and Search functionality

What is a resource DCR ? Whats difference between DataDCR and Resource DCR ?

This is in relation to creating a serach functionality in the web page. User can input the key word and click on the search and relevant info can be pulled on to the web page.

How can I create search functionality in SitePublisher page ? Do we have to have a search engine in the system where this query is diverted to ? Or can we use some other functionality in TS, which can pull the relevant information ?
