Visual Format Text Area

Hi All,

In the data capture form - when the user pastes content in VisualFormat text area - he is asked whether to clean the html.
The text was being copied from other office application.

Is there anyway we can default this cleaning to "yes"?
So, HTML cleaning should happen automatically without having to ask the user about it.

I seem to remember editing my iw-home/httpd/iw/config/visualformatconfig.xml file and adding some lines about 'auto-clean'.

I don't remember exactly what I did, but I'd check out the visual format dev guide on support.interwoven.com.

Here's a snippet of my config that might provide some leads for you (starts ~line 106):

I believe this is a setting in the ewebeditpro.js file.....You will have to look for this file on the server, but there is a line in there for autoclean.....Change it from the default.

Tom - My config file is same as yours but it still doesn't do automatic cleanup.
Is it working for you?

Rococi - I checked out ewebeditpro.js, there is no setting for automatic cleanup.
I have also checked all other files available under /u01/iw-home/httpd/iw/ewebeditpro20,
but there is none which talks about this.

I will keep researching.
If anyone finds anything on this - I would appreciate if you share it with me.

My textareas do autoclean. I've attached my full visualformatconfig.xml file. Do a diff and see what's the gap between them.

I have checked my visualformatconfig.xml.
I still don't see anything which is different as far as cleaning is concerned.

Here is the cleaning section from my config file...

Just to make sure we both are doing the same thing -
when I copy the formatted contents from microsoft word and paste it in VF textarea, I get the message saying "Do you want to clean HTML now?".
I want to get rid of this message and let the cleaning happen automatically.
Have you tried doing the same thing in your environment?

Just in case, if this has something to do with versions, I am using TS Version 5.5.1 on Solaris.

The line is in the visualformatconfig.xml file. It looks like this:
<standard autoclean="true" publish="cleanhtml">

Its under httpd/iw/config.

Its in the "standard" section of the xml file. Works for me.
