Login page not coming up

Hi All,

Thanks in advance. Today I found my content store frozen. So i freed up some space, reset iwov services and when I did a iwstat, the store was up and running fine. But now the login page for TS does not come up. It says IE cannot display the webpage. Can you help me on this?

Jenni,

your store may be up but your buildin apache or tomcat may not be. And this could explain your error.

So check that these 2 services are running OK as well: either by checking the logs or by running 'iwreset -a'.

What is in the servletd_log ?

run iwreset -a

and the start monitoring the iwhome/local/logs/iwui directory (ls -lrt)

when they stop being modified grab the last 100 lines (or so) of the ones recently updated and post. They can be quite large, so do not post the complete logs.

OK, you may want to try to rebuild your GUI. (run make_toolkit in iwhome/local/config/lib/content_center/customer_src (from memory but I *think* that is the correct path, the CCUIG willtell you for certain)

You should have a call into support, they may ask you to rerun tspostreboot.pl

Where are you running it from?
its at some location /apache/bin/httpd -k start....
alternatively u can use "find . -name "httpd" " run it from root to get the exact location.

root by default does not look in the local folder (security issues) so you would need to use ./httpd

However I seriously doubt that will help

I can take a guess - just as good as anyone else's: The login page not coming up and httpd not running, means iwwebd is not running.

That said, there are several points of failure to check in this case and its not something you can troubleshoot in a forum. And considering you reported it a few days ago, I think you need to be on the phone with Support or bring in someone who has good TS experience.

You need to have someone who has access open a case. There is a diagnostics script that you can download, however the results won't mean squat to you. It is basically a giant XML file with logs, configs and other information. You upload that & let support have a look at it.

The XML file opens with a pretty style in IE. It's a good first step towards troubleshooting issues. And it doesn't mean you have to send it to Support. You can read it yourself (especially in the browser) - its not voodoo.

True, I have done that as well. But there is no information you cannot get by looking at the logs, configs, etc and there is a whole lot more that is not applicable to this problem.

Hi,

Seems JMS issue while starting the server. I think interwoven should replace already existing openjms-0.7.6.1.jar with openjms-0.7.7. Please take a look on the following thread.

Hi Jenny,

You need to change Clock.class with one more catch block as mentioned in the Sourceforge.net. That file is present in the following jar.

/iw-home/eventsubsystem/lib/openjms-0.7.6.1.jar

I am not sure whether we can change jar file content and building new jar file will fix the issue. Otherwise we can download openjms-0.7.7 jar file and need to build webapps again. If we build webapps successfully after the new openjms-0.7.7 then we will be fine. Otherwise we will again end up in some other problems.

I think we can get some comments from someone else before doing above step. or else contact iw support .

Jenny, do NOT replace any TS Java Files! "openjms" Version has nothing to do your problem (or to any TS problem
whatever). There is absolutely no way that you can "inject" newer JMS and properly rebuild/reinstall IWOV JARs/WARs.

You *seem* to have a Port Conflict. It simply means that there are processes other than TS using same Ports. You(your Admins?) can
use netstat to find them, there are better tools for it too. When identified, you will be able to reconfigure TS/Other
Services so that the conflict is eliminated
