archiving of .doc files

Hi,

I am using 6.7.1 TS.
I have 2 years old doc in my asset folder.
The requirement is :
i have product.doc file versioned in TS and i have this file in my target server
User wants : if he upload same file with new content (product.doc), he want archiving for product.doc file like (product_1.doc). (wants both files)

I am looking for, At the time of import files i will check if this file exist in TS. then make copy of that file like product_1.doc. and make chages of all files that point to old version(product) with the help of script.
then i can deploy all doc to target server.
i just want archiving Doc files in ts.

Is this scenario technicaly possible to implement?

Perhaps you should explain the concept of versioning? Although, since you're asking the question here - perhaps you need to understand that concept too?
