In the SitePublisher manual I see following datatypes as base data types

TeamSite Asset
Content
Event
News
Date
Content Image
Content Link
Contant Contact
Content author

Where are all these content types ? How can I use them ? Can it be used just like content types in the templatedata folder ?

It seems you did not read manual carefully .
These are type of Data Model. Data models are used to create components in SitePublisher.
These are totally different from Category/Data Type of FormPublisher.

I suggest you go through the manuals cautiously.
