Parameter passing by callout url

Hi,

I am trying to pass parameter to my ipl by using the url in cgi-callout:

[html] [/html]

But when i want to see its value on ipl, it is always null. I use this code in ipl to take the parameter:

use TeamSite::CGI_lite;
use TeamSite::Config;

$|=1;

my $cgi = TeamSite::CGI_lite->new();
$cgi->parse_data();

my $example = $cgi->{form}{'example'};

How can i pass parameter by this way?

I have seen people have difficulty with passing parameters like you are doing. I am not 100% sure if this should work or not. In any case, you can have them as DCT fields (hidden if un-necessary) and then in your IPL / Perl script retrieve values of appropriate DCT fields.

I think it may depend on whether the script is being called in POST or GET mode - you might also be able to change that '?' to a slash '/' (as shown in the example in the FormsPublisher Developer's Guide for callout (note: cgi-callout was deprecated).

As i see your perl code you are trying to get a POST form value. but the problem say that you are trying to get the querystring parameter in your perl program.
you have to use $ENV{'QUERY_STRING'}; to get the querystring parameter.
the below example will help you to understand this.
it will split your querystring parameter using "&" as a

delimiter

print "\n";
print "Query String Data&colon; \n";
$query = $ENV{'QUERY_STRING'};
@list = split( /\&/, $query);

None of that will ever work with the CGI Callout. 'QUERY_STRING' contains 'GET' information. In the case of
DCT Callout FormsPuplisher uses 'POST', not 'GET' - meaning that the Form info is passed through CGI
Process STDIN with the input length provided by the 'CONTENT_LENGTH' Environment variable.

Regardless, whether you process Data through Get or Post Method you should use CGI.pm (or CGI::Lite or at least
IWOV's CGI_lite.pm). There is absolutely no need to reinvent this wheel.

You can't, not in this exact manner. FormsPublisher posts DC Form to the CGI callout URL, your own parameters are ignored.

So, as already noted you can include your info into DCR, hidden if needed. Alternatively,
you can use FormAPI callout and onCallout Event handler. [post=136532]Here[/post] I've illustrated this technique
