Deployment failed

I select a file from

y:\store1\main\capital\WORKAREA\stocks\templatedata\company\data\2008_06_1228
and use "publish" workflow to publish the content.

Deployment fauiled and error is
"y:\store1\main\capital\STAGING\templatedata" This area is not found.

Why do I get such an error. As area is there and I choose file from that area only. So deployment shd take place.
Secondly, File I choose is from WORKAREA and error I get is from STAGING , why so ?

Pls explain.

Your publish workflow is doing this. No one here can debug without looking at the code. I would start looking at your OD logs as to what it was trying to do and where the files it needs to push out really live.

Now to your 2nd question, why is it pushing from Staging, that is a best practice. When you push a file to production, it is often pushed from the Staging area rather than from the workarea.

Of course if this is happening *before* the submit task, then you are pushing old data.

Before Nipper answers you and you ask him a question to explain, can you tell me what is "Publish Workflow" on your system? can you post the wft file for this workflow?

Your questions above sound like you think that submit task is you "Submit" button well in that case you are way too wrong and need to read up on workflow and OD manuals.

p.s. Submit Task is Key for content versioning.

The submit task and you clicking on the submit button are two different things. The workflow has a task called submit which actually pushes the changes to Staging. That is what I am talking about.

Go get some training, you need a great deal of it.
