Hi,

Is it possible to do DATADEPLOY to TWO DIFFERENT DATABASES?
For eg, DataDeploy to ORALCE & MYSQL thru the same workflow.

Please guide.

Yes. You need do the same way as you do for deploying to a database but, invoke the deployments twice, once for ORACLE and the other for SQL.

You need to have the database deployment configurations for both ORACLE and SQL and construct the deployment commands accordingly.

You can have the single DB deployment configuration file which will include the both the database.

There is a file "database.xml" at location [\\od-home\etc] .This isthe file where you configure your database connection.In this you can have multiple database elements under the tag data-deploy-elements.

Step-1

Configure your database connection setting in this file for your two different databases.

Step-2

Create dbschema.cfg for your datatype using the CLT
iwsyncdb -dbschemagen workareavpath [-dtdfile path_to_DTD] [dcrtype] [-dcfile path_to_data_capture_file] [-force] [-DeployAll]

Step-3

Create the datadeploy config file using the CLT
iwsyncdb -ddgen workareavpath dcrtype
This generates the following DataDeploy configuration file:
workareavpath/templatedata/data_category/data_type/data_type_dd.cfg.

Now there is an element [destination] ,under this we have [database] element,as per my understanding you can replicate the [destination] elemet by defining different database in [database] the subelement.

I am testing this at my end,let you know asap.

fyi...this is definitely possible and a lot of people are sending you down the proper path. I just noticed no one mentioned this little detail, your deployments CANNOT be transactional - meaning if one fails the other will NOT rollback for you.
