Web CMS (TeamSite)
Cross Branch use of css, images, etc
Paul
We're using TeamSite 6.7.2 sp1 SitePublisher and LiveSite. We have a model that has numerous sub branches set up under the main branch. We have build an administration branch in which we are hoping to place our common elements such as CSS and images. This is new territory for us and we're trying to get it right.
We have our assets in:
//WIWVSG154/default/main/TopBranch/administration/WORKAREA/content/assets/css
and the page we want to use this on is in:
//WIWVSG154/default/main/TopBranch/custom/client1/WORKAREA/content/sites/client/programs/index.page
any idea what the path would look like in the page settings of index.page?

Hi Paul,
I never tried this one. but i did some research and i have come up with solution.
You can't cross reference branch in Page Settings. Because of ceiling dir setting.
Instead what you can do means you can add the following entry in iw.cfg under the section of
[iwproxy_preconnect_remap]
_regex=(^/iw-mount/default/main/TopBranch)/custom/client1/WORKAREA/content/css/(.*)=$1/administration/WORKAREA/content/assets/css/$2
So proxy will basically take the administration branch css instead of local css.
I hope it would solve your problem.
Thanks

Hey Guys,
I can understand that this will work when we preview the .pages in Teamsite. What happens when we publish the .page using the Publish livesite content workflow? how will the dependent URIs get pushed to target server?
Any pointers?
Thanks,
Arun.

You have to put some mechanism in place to publish the content from other branch/workarea as well and avoid resource collision on the target server at the same time :-)
