Deploying directory deletes to a local Teamsite workarea using filelist.

I have configured a filelist deployment which deploys files and directories from a STAGING area on Teamsite server to another workarea on the same server. The deployment seems to work correctly, i.e. it can deploy modfied/new files to the other workarea. It can also delete files from the other workarea (target) which are present in the filelist but not present in the STAGING area of the source.

When the deployment runs on a directory in the filelist which is deleted from STAGING, the deployment correctly runs, the deployment log identifies that the directory is deleted from the workarea, however the directory still is present in the workarea.

I was wondering what I've configured incorrectly to cause this situation. Included below is a sample configuration file as a reference.

Also, if I change the deployment target to a non-workarea location on the filesystem the directory delete works. What's going on?

Is the directory in the target workarea, already submitted to its STAGING environment

The directory exists in the target workarea, however it hasn't been submitted to STAGING.

In the tests that you performed on the non-workarea location - did you populate the directory to-be-deleted with files before performing the deployment?

It is possible that the deletion of the directory won't work if there are files within the directory - and then you need to adjust the code that creates the filelist to explicitly list all files within the deleted directory (and its sub-directories) before performing the deployment.

Thanks for all of the inquiries regarding this post. The non-workarea target had files in the directory to be deleted and it was deleted as part of the deployment.

However, in all cases I have run so far, I can't delete a directory from a workarea deployment target. The OD logs show "Directory Deleted" but it still exists after the deployment. I've tried both cases where the directory has files in it and when it is empty with the same result.

Deletes of files in the workarea target works fine.
