query regarding workflow and CLT's

Hi

My requirement is to push the dcr associated(its primary dcr) with the file being submitted (suppose .html file) to the staging area as well.

I had developed the following logic but i am not getting the desired results.

$var1 = "$iwhome/bin/iwextattr -g TeamSite/Templating/PrimaryDocumentType $filePath";
$var2 = "$iwhome/bin/iwextattr -g TeamSite/Templating/PrimaryDcr $filePath";

instead of filepath i had hard coded paths ,i want to get the path thr some function in Workflows,there is function getarea()but i dont see any function to get file path (sry ,i m bit new to workflows),i am concatenating these two values to form a path like "category/datatype/dcr"

i think i can get the root area thr getarea() and then concatenate the result with the previous value(path) and store it in $output and use

iwsubmit -x $output to submit the file

pls confirm if this is the right approach

You can certainly make that work. However, it is IMO much better to use TeamSite::WFtask::AddFile Methods to attach WF Files
and use standard submittask within your flow to Submit them. Search DevNet, there are tons of WF File attachment samples.

I think you're close:

chomp($var1 = qx($iwhome/bin/iwextattr -g TeamSite/Templating/PrimaryDocumentType $filePath));
chomp($var2 = qx($iwhome/bin/iwextattr -g TeamSite/Templating/PrimaryDCR $filePath));

(my $rel_path = "templatedata/$var1/data/$var2") =~ tr|\\|/|;

From this point you could, as Boris suggested, use $rel_path with TeamSite::WFtask::AddFile() - or if you really want to get the full vpath:

...
(my $area = $filePath) =~ tr|\\|/|;
$area =~ s|(/WORKAREA/[^/]+)/.*$|$1|;
my $full_path = "$area/$rel_path";

i am getting 80% of what is expected now ,i ll explain

i am getting CORRECT output in case if file is generated from a dcr ,i am attaching a program for this ,right.txt

now suppose some times html file is not generated from a DCR ,so we have to consider that possibility ,when i try to incorporate that possibility within my code ,there is message "No Primary DCR found" in backend

it is not working correctly ,i am attaching this file as wrong,i am also not getting any message in log file which i am generating for testing purposes

pls guide if you have any idea about this thing

There are at least two errors in your 'wrong.txt' file:

...
foreach my $auto_file(@files) {
my $auto_file =~ s/\\/\//g;
    chomp(my $auto_file); 
    ...
}

You need to remove both of those 'my's - basically the foreach loop is creating a locally scoped variable called $auto_file, then you are re-declaring the same file and running a substitution regex on it, but there's no value, and then you are re-declaring the variable yet again and chomp'ing it - though there is no value in it - once you get past that - $auto_file is empty and so the rest of your code fails.

Note, if you had also used the pragma:

use warnings;

- at the top of your script, or tested your script from the command line with:

iwperl -w -c scriptname.ipl

- you probably would have seen some warnings like:

"my" variable $auto_file masks earlier declaration in same scope at wrong.txt line 19.

Unfortunately the chomp() masks the second error - so you'd have to catch that yourself
