Mediabin images preview using http url

Hello friends,

I am using TS 672 with mediabin 462 for content management.
In our environment,
1.we are creating content in TeamSite using DCT.
2.Deploying the DCR to the oracle database.
3.Suns WSS portal is handling the presentation layer.
4.WSS portal fetching the data from the oracle database & displaying it.

Whenever i deploy DCR there is relative path which gets deploy to the database.
But for previewing the same image in the WSS portal i need http url path for the same.I want to build the http url for the images which are present in the mbdata directory.

Any pointers on the same.

Hi,

You can configure that url option in Web Server config file. If you are using Apache then take a look on the following directive "Redirect directive". if some other web server then search for redirect option.

For example

Redirect /service http://foo2.bar.com/service

If the client requests http://myserver/service/foo.txt, it will be told to access http://foo2.bar.com/service/foo.txt instead.

In your case u need to give ur media bin server IP address.

But my basic question is still there.How to build http url for the images present in the mediabin.
I want to preview those images using http link.

Hi Vikas,

Sorry, today only i saw that MediaBin assigns a unique key for each and every image while storing it in the local disk. In that case we can't map it in web server config file.

Hi Vikas,

As far as i know people bring all image assets(after some operations on those images) into teamsite and they preview it in teamsite env and deploy it to production server as part of OD process.
