Workflow Modeler - postProcess error

I have problem with using postProcess command in wfm in windows.
The command I used in the model workflow propertie is:

E:/iw-home/iw-perl/bin/iwperl.exe E:/iw-home/local/production/wfm/postprocess.ipl

I am getting following error massage:

com.interwoven.modeler.common.exceptions.ModelerException: Workflow Command [Pre/Post] did not return correct value. Correct the error.

My postprocess.ipl file is very simple. I wrote couple of lines for the testing purpose but It is giving me error message. The problem is on the return value.

Just a wild guess. Looking at the workflow modeler guide in the pre/post processor section, it looks like the code is returning a workflow object instead of a callback.

How about trying to return the workflow object instead?


public class CustomCodeDemo implements InProcessJavaCommand {
  public WFMWorkflow execute (WFMWorkflow workflow, Map params)
  {
    ...
    ...
    return workflow;
  }
}

So how about try to do a:

return $job;

in your ipl?

I was thinking your way also but the only transition from the script in perl is the callback function.

I believe someone would have tried this in perl. If anybody has a solution, that would be greatly appreciated.

If there is no way then finally I have to move this part as external task in the workflow. That is my workaround, but I prefer the postProcess approach first.

I haven't tried, but I don't think you can write the postProcess code in Perl - I think it has to be written in Java as per the example previously shown. If you don't want to do that, and you have the option of moving your code into an externaltask script - then you can do that and use Perl.

You can use Java or anything else you want as a pre/post processor. Interwoven provides two different interfaces for that to be accomplished. Doing it in Java is easy, but you can spend the effort to make it work in Perl as well.
