You must override the existing fixed layout configuration by creating a new layout in pagetype-config.xml.To properly override the default out of the box layout configuration, use the value "fixed-layout" as your overriding layout element's id.Here are explicit steps: Edit the page type configuration file: IW-HOME/TeamSite/local/config/lib/content_center/livesite_customer_src/etc/conf/livesite_customer/pagetype-config.xml Add the new layout configuration. Remember the layout id must be "fixed-layout". For example:
Fixed com/my-company/xsl/custom-fixed-layout.xsl com.interwoven.livesite.layout.impl.FixedLayout
Verify your custom XSL stylesheet is at the location you configured above: IW-HOME/TeamSite/local/config/lib/content_center/livesite_customer_src/etc/classes/com/my-company/xsl/custom-fixed-layout.xsl Navigate into the livesite_customer_src folder: IW-HOME/TeamSite/local/config/lib/content_center/livesite_customer_src Run the build script appropriate for your OS (build.bat or build.sh). After this step is complete your custom pagetype-config.xml file and your custom-fixed-layout.xsl stylesheet should have been deployed to both the content_center webapp as well as the iw-preview webapp in their respective folders: IW-HOME/TeamSite/httpd/webapps/iw-preview/WEB-INF/conf/livesite_customer/pagetype-config.xmlIW-HOME/TeamSite/httpd/webapps/iw-preview/WEB-INF/classes/com/my-company/xsl/custom-fixed-layout.xslIW-HOME/TeamSite/httpd/webapps/content_center/WEB-INF/conf/livesite_customer/pagetype-config.xmlIW-HOME/TeamSite/httpd/webapps/content_center/WEB-INF/classes/com/my-company/xsl/custom-fixed-layout.xsl For runtime, you will need to manually copy these files into their respective folders beneath your runtime environment's WEB-INF folder.
After these steps, i can get the custom page type and layout type, but when i preview page, display error something: java.lang.RuntimeException: Unable to access template (CS), anything else i need to do?another question, if i want to customize custom-fixed-layout style, then i should create custom-fixed-layout.css under fixed-layout folder, but how these styles be applied? for example, if i want to set background style for second colum area(ls-row-1-area-2), how should i write in css file?
What errors are you seeing in your servletd? CSS file gets included automatically for you. It should reside in the same directory as the FAL.
error:java.lang.RuntimeException: Unable to access template (CS) is from servlet.out.when inline-css="false" then in the css file, i should write something like #ls-row-1-area-2 {...}, it will be apply automatically, right?
Yes, i saw the custom css was include in head automatically, but the style havn't apply to the layout, also i find the css was not what i define use firebug. It seems something default. my custom-fixed-layout config xml
Standard 3 Column Fixed LayoutLeft ColumnCenter ColumnRight Column
what i define in custom css#ls-row-1-area-2.ls-area{ background-color:#DDD1BF;}i use ls-row-1-area-2 but not row-1-area-2 is because i saw from the source file when preview the page Is there anything i lost?
yes, it's very strange, but the source is really like this when previeweven if i use class instead, it still no use
hi vpatel, i find actually it won't use the css i define under iw/config/fixed-layout/custom-fixed-layout.css but iwov-resources/fixed-layout/custom-fixed-layout.css, it will regenerate a css file under iwov-resources/fixed-layout to apply, inside i saw somthing add prefix ls.i should modify this generated css under iwov-resources directly. Then it will be apply. my verson is ls3.1, is it different from previous verson?
hi vpatel, for this custom-fixed-layout css, i still want to ask you a question, the background(sencond column background) for every page of my website are different, so is it possible to let this custom-fixed-layout css dynamic?
I wouldn't address it that way. Is that image user selected or selected dynamically based on some criteria or is it randomly selected?
yes, it's better user selected, something like background image and color under page settings.
In the current state there is no such mechanism for page settings. However you can have a component on a page where you can select that -- ideally within the area (assuming FAL) where you want that background image.
i am not so understand this.
