Parsing array from callserver to ipl

Hi,

I am trying to pass comma separated values from JS to a IPL through callserver. I used "split" to parse the comma separated values and push that into an array.
But when I try to debug that into the log file, I am not able to get the values.

PFA the files. JS - propedit.txt, IPL - fileSearch.txt

TeamSite Environment: 6.7.1
OS - Windows

Your IPL has this typo for whatever reasons:

foreach my $multi_select(@cgi_res_array)
{
debug("Array: $mutli_select");
}

Hi Samir,

Thanks!!! for pointing out the typo error. I have corrected that typo, but still it doesnt print the required information in the log file. I get the first three debug in my log and not the third one.
I had tested by putting a debug inside the for loop, which doesnot get printed in the log. Is there anything wrong in the "split" which I am doing or something wrong with the for loop.

Your log file says you aren't getting any value in @cgi_res_array.

1. I suppose if you're directly passing an array from your JS, you wouldn't need to use split to catch its values inside another array(in IPL).
2. Try printing the value of the $in->param('res_array') one by one then decide if you really need to use split. Try removing the split function.

Please note that you can neither Post live JS Object (like Array) nor expect Perl to be able to parse "Foreign Language"
Object. callServer will accept only scalar String Parameter(s). You'd have to create your comma-delimited String
on the Client (FormAPI) Side and then pass it to callServer, split there if needed, etc

Thanks Boris!!!! That worked. I converted the array using toString() and then passed the same to the ipl. Now I am able to get the output.
