Change Display Name in TeamSite

I need to change the Display Name of the Users in TeamSite 6.7.1 SP1. I do not want to change the /etc/passwd file. I tried manually changing the /conf/roles/tsusers.xml file, but that does not work.

The CLT "iwuseradm" does not have the feature to change the diplay name.

We have
TeamSite 6.7.1 SP1
OS: Sun Solaris 9

I do not think this is possible if you are using OS users. You need to update the password file and at the very least, restart the UI:

# /app/suncom/iw-home/bin/iwuseradm set-display-name jm128041 "King Jed"
ERROR:00048: Operation not supported

Can I change it to show the UserID instead of the display name. I mean to say is that can I customize the User Interface to show UserID.

you could do that with out chaging /etc/passwd file..but this more fo a bug that the engineering team should have given the flexibility in changing the Gcose field.

Here is cheat to do the same, but not supported by interwoven.
remove the user details field (the one that is read from /etc/passwd which is not customizable) using the following steps:

Please follow the given steps to hide the username:
1) comment out the "" present at
\httpd\webapps\content_center\ccpro\common\navbar. inl
2) Rename "web_no_jsp.xml" as "web.xml" and reset the server

U can play around with visibleName by simple Java string APIs to modify it from waht in /etc/passwd
