Change Branch Owner
nUMBA9
Anyone know if/how to change a branch owner. TechDocs say that there is a CLT due out post v4 called iwchown but can't find it or equiv. in docs.
This is on a windows env.

On UNIX you just use chown and chgrp to modify a branch's owner. For instance, chown bobw /iwmnt/main/www changes the www branch's owner to bobw.
Since Windows really doesn't have user or group owners, there is an "iwchgrp" CLT in iw-home/bin to change group ownership. Remember that everyone in the branch's share group is just as valid an administrator of the branch as the owner.
I suggest that on Winodws (maybe UNIX too) branches always be created with a standard owner (ie, a special user account created just for TS administration.) Make this user account a member of the Administrators group and a master. Call it something like "tsadmin", and store the password away for a rainy day. Nobody actually needs to log on as the tsadmin, but it's there as a backup. And since it's not really a person's account there's no reason to change it due to personnel changes.
