on the page where you select your reviewers, there is a comments box that im guessing you can comment on your submitted task...

what page is that in workflow?

i want to make that comments box required, and add the caption next to it "Comments for submitted task"

i looked at the default_config.xml but that did not look like the place to be...

First, your questions tells me that you are very busy to work on Teamsite. I did rather suggest you quit working on Teamsite and recruit someone who is really interested to work.. That will give junior people oppurtunity to learn..

Second, the terminology you use is totally unclear and it seems you are workin on web apps for the first time.. Please explain your question in technical terms

I'm not sure I understand moonkhanna's response, however - when you make posts in the forums - please provide basic information such as:

In this case, it probably would also have helped if you had indicated that you were working with Workflow Modeler (WFM) - or at least that is my assumption (correct me if I'm wrong).For WFM - read the Workflow Modeler manual (not the Workflow Developer's Guide) - and probably also the FormsPublisher Developer's Guide and FormAPI Developer's Guide. In the WFM manual - you will find a section about customizing the instantiation screen - read it carefully and then refer to the other two manuals mentioned above to assist with the code development once you've established the branch-specific custom instantiation form.

anyway, i am the junior guy...thats why im asking these questions.. isnt that what a forum is for?

ok, TS 6.7.2 Windows Server 2003

I dont know if this is a WFM question or TS itself, but i am assuming Workflow...
(step by step here)
in TS, i check the file i want to submit. and submit it.
the next screen is the new pop up window that says "select a workflow".

and i select the workflow i want, then hit "next"

the next screen has the reviewers that can approve or reject my task.

this screen also has a textarea where the user can put in comments about the task...

i want to make that textarea a required field, and put the caption next to it that says "you must comment on your submitted task" or somethign to that nature...

where can i modify this screen? is there an xml file i need to modify? can i even modify this page?

Hi Teamsite Smasher, your I didnt like your posting way.. It was totally unclear and written in a hurry as if indicating that people who are going to respond have sufficient time to understand you but you do not have time to put your post correctly. Sorry about my post anyways...

First you need to check if you are using Worflow Modeler or Workflow Template as indicated by Ghoti

Probably the best way to know this looking at your skill level would be to take a screenshot of the Instantiation Screen you are seeing and attach it to your post.. From the Instantiation Screen, we will be able to make out if you are using WFM or WFT

When you have the option to select the workflow - is there a little icon between the radio-button and the name of the workflow? If so, it is WFM, if not, it is WFT.

If it is WFM - you can go through the manuals I suggested previously to teach yourself how to customized the WFM.

If it is WFT - you need to go through the Workflow Developer's Guide (starting on page 70) to teach yourself how to modify the WFT so that the comment area (probably "iw_desc") is set to be required.

Asking questions is fine - doing a bit of homework before you ask is better.
