<select> element not rendering correctly when migrated from 6.5 to 6.7.2
suri038
Hi,
We have the following code in our datacapture.cfg to render dropdown box in data capture form.
[quote]
<item name="language">
<label>Language</label>
<select>
<option label="English" value="English" selected="t"/>
<option label="French" value="French" />
<option label="Dutch" value="Dutch" />
<option label="German" value="German" />
<option label="Spanish" value="Spanish" />
</select>
</item>
]
The above code renders dropdown element correctly. But when we migrated to 6.7.2 the same code introduces an empty option.
Has anybody experienced similar behaviour when you migrated from 6.5 to 6.7.2. Is it a problem with Interwoven?
Thanks,

That is normal behavior if you have a select list with mulitple="f", BTW, the empty selection cannot be chosen.
I typically change it to a radio button instead of select.

Thanks nipper, I can actually select empty space in the dropdown. In normal HTML, if we need empty space then we provide blank option in select element like : <option value="" />. That's what we do in 6.5.
In 6.7.2, team site is adding empty space by default. I have attached the screen shot to give you more idea.

Make the field required and it *used to* go away

We found that, "required" attribute alone does not solve the problem. We need to have both "required" and "selected".
But, what i am tring to find is, Is it an issue with Team Site 6.7.2?
