DNR & Workflow

Hi all,

I had a workflow having a task doing opendeploy from one TS box to another. Now my requirement is to submit the files I deployed at Target server.

For the same i could write a DNR script. However my simple question is can DNR script read the workflow attributes over at target server like workarea, attached files, job id etc?

Also, if yes, then do i need to do a callback or it shud work as a standalone script running at target server?

Or is it simply going to run a CLT to submit the files?

Your source job on the source server has no instance on the target - of what use would job specific info (like JobID) be on the target? You can certainly pass parameters into your DNR script such as filelist, JobID, but I'm not sure what the JobID will do for you on the target.

I assume you are deploying them into a TeamSite workarea then? I would think you'd be able to use the iwsubmit CLT in your DNR. You can pass in the filelist to the script. Am I missing the difficult part here?

- You should not (and in fact as explained by Smitty could not) perform callbacks from the Target DNR Scripts.

- You should monitor DNR Script execution and print <response code='-2'/> into STDOUT in case of
DNR Failure. It's a must for Transactional Deployment and a good idea anyway

- You can obtain Deployed File list using IWXML OD Parser, there are samples on the Forum

- You can pass any WF-related attributes you need as parameters to your DNR Script. Standard OD "-k"
substitution is what I normally use in such cases

There is no difficult part over here and you understand it well. My problem is same of Boris, as i cud not find the documentation of the same.
