We are running TS 6.5 SP2 on Windows 2000. We have 2 Web server boxes and 2 app server boxes. We have OD Receivers on the 2 Web server boxes. We're just starting work on a new Web site. It consits of a whole bunch of static pages residing in TS and a few dynamic pages implemented via Java apps such as "Get Tickets."In the static pages, we'll be using server-side include HTML files for the header, right-column and the footer. We're not storing any JSP or Java code in TS itself. In fact, there's opposition to the notion of deploying from TS into the app servers. So how can we get the Java applications to use the include files published from TS to the Web servers? Should we use iframes? AJAX?What are the best practices? Many thanks for any comments, S.
If your Web Server (not Application Server, Web!) is properly configured for SSI and if your inc Files are pure HTML you should be able to use the standard #include directive within your .jsp file. <!--#include file="boo.inc" --> Its absolutely trivial to test with the jsp/inc pair. Have you?
Yep; it doesnt work. The Web server passes JSP file requests to the App server, which doesnt do anything with the SSIs...
