OD deployment failure

Hi All,

We are facing a issue in deployment. I have just installed OD 6.2 receiver on one of our servers. To test the deployment to this server i have deployed the content from OD 6.0.2. The deployment is successful. But when i deploy the content from OD 6.2 to this server the deployment fails. Interestingly the deployment for 1-2 files works fine but for large number of files deployment fails.

Any Suggestions?

Is it always the same file(s) that fail to get deployed?
Does the same deployment work if tried again a few minutes later?

Thanks for your response.

1) Yes the failures are consistent.
2) I have tried with other workareas as well where the number of files to be deployed are more but the result is same.
3) I have been trying from yesterday, but unfortunately the same result.

the surprising part is that files do start to get deployed to the receiver but suddenly halts in mid with the error

and then the next set of errors follow.

If there is any OD config issue at receiver the deployment from 6.0.2 should also fail. I have just deployed over 1000 files from 6.0.2.

Could it be port time out issue?

Or it could only be network issue?

It sounds like it is more likely a file locking issue - are you using IIS for your webserver on the target receiver? I believe IIS has a habit of locking files that prevents OD from [sometimes] overwriting them.

You can try several of the OD configuration transferRules options like:

If you are doing second option, then Interwoven not recommended the deployment from lower version base to upper version rcvr (i.e. Base server should be in same or higher version than receiver).

Do please refer documentation.

We are in process of migrating the servers to new hardware. So we were thinking of upgrading our OD base and receiver versions. We have od 6.0.2 and od 6.2 in base. We have od 6.2 and 5.6 in receiver.

I am trying to deploy from od 6.2 base to od 6.2 receiver. I have not installed any patch as of now for 6.2. The deployment fails with errors given above from 6.2 to 6.2 however same set of files deploy fine from 6.0.2 to 6.2.

Hey,

Check for the concurrency management settings.
I.e.- pathRegistryChecking

Enable the pathRegistryChecking inside the odrcvr.xml file which is on your receiver side.
