Deployment to FTP server???

We are using OD 6.2 on solaris 10.
In one of our requirement i need to deploy content to the FTP server.
I am not sure what is the architecture(OS if it has) of the FTP server.FTP server has filesystem as SAN .Does FTP server have some OS?
Is it possible to deploy (content & digital assets) to the FTP server?

Your query in not much clear.But what ever I understood as per that,

Yes, you can do deployment to FTP server who have filesystem as SAN

For OS support for FTP ...Do refer the opendeploy docs...You will get supported OS versions.

The way is works is that the receiver is the one doing the actual FTP. You could potentially deploy to a temp place in the base server and have the adapter FTPing from there.

We use the adapter here and I find it to be very slow. We are looking into using RSync or building or own adapter.
