Import Edition

We have two branches working in parallel mode. So in certain time, we need to merge two branches. I know we could create some temp workarea to achieve this purpose. However this would affect the staging area.
Could we cut an edition in one branch, and import the edition into the second one ?

No, the copy-to-workarea, submit, publish method is it.

You *could*, I suppose, first copy the staging area to a new temp workarea, do the above operation, and then do an overwrite full submit from the temp workarea to restore the staging area to the pre-edition-import state.
