TeamSite Based Deployment

Ananda_31091

Hi,

i am doing Teamsite based deployment from one server to another.

i have config file like below.
source
sourceTeamsite area="//IWSERVER/default/main/safari/EDITION"
previousArea="//IWSERVER/default/main/safari/EDITION/IW_PREV"
pathSpecification
path name="."
pathSpecification
sourceTeamsite
source

in the above config file if i did not specify "previousArea" then will it do full deployment of entire edition ( like without comparing any thing ) ?

thanks in advance

Ananda

No, it won't.

There is an excellent Manual on the topic, OpenDeploy® Administration Guide. Have you tried to read it?

Thanks for your suggestion.

i had read the document already (chapter2) . i did not find the answer.

they have mentioned all the possibility but have not said anything about not having the "previousarea" attribute.

please if you know where i can find this detail in the document let me know.

or else if you know the answer please share it

That's invalid configuration, attribute is mandatory. You would have figured that out yourself in 5 seconds if you only have bothered to try
instead of waiting for somebody to spoon-feed you. Alternatively, you could have read DTD, it clearly states that ...previousArea CDATA #REQUIRED...,
but that I'm sure is too much to expect

or else if you know the answer please share it

If I know what the question is...

If you want to force a deployment of the entire edition - try using this:

previousArea="//IWSERVER/default/main/safari/EDITION/INITIAL"

This assumes that nobody deleted the INITIAL edition on that branch, and that the INITIAL edition was, in fact, an "empty" edition.
