Even you're new, please go through IW documentation or take training first. You can't get full information of what you want through forums. Sorry to say that but that's the fact.

The simple answer (though more detail is available in the documentation as previously stated by BlueWhale) is that DataDeploy is for transferring data from XML files and/or TeamSite Extended Attributes to a database -- this is in contrast to OpenDeploy which is for transferring files to a remote file system.
