Unix date & time?

If you run iwgetwfobj you get lots of lines with event dates being a huge number. Now i am presuming this is unix time (EPOC??) but being not overly familiar with this standard am not sure how to convert it to a readable format. I'm sure there is a basic command to do it but would appreciate a pointer in the correct direction. Cheers.

You can use the perl function localtime in a scalar context to convert this number into a string. That should get you started.

If you have TS 5.5.2, you can see an example in iw-home/local/config/wft/solutions/reviewer_iwmailbody.tpl

I'll leave the issues of formatting the string and adjusting for the time zone as an exercise for our readers.

Following up on Brinko's post - if you see:

activationtime v="1035675795"

You can convert that trivially from the command line via:

iwperl -e "print scalar(localtime(1035675795));"

The result, in this case (I'm on Eastcoast US time [-0500]):
Sat Oct 26 19:43:15 2002
