I am on TS6.7.1 on Linux, Please see the below snippet from the debug log. My logic seems good, but for some reason I am getting error in my "Generate_html_and _attach" . I am not sure why is this happening??

can any one point me out my fault.

I have not found this in the DTD (though it may be documented somewhere) but I *think* the files directive is only valid on a task with start='t'

OK, from the manual

The file element specifies the files that the actions of a task affect. The files can be specified
at configuration time (but only on start tasks) or dynamically (but only on active tasks). It
is expected that the user interface will allow users to modify and/or add to the comment
field.

Now I am not certain how to do one dynamically for an active task, maybe a CGI ?

I was in the same assumtion of having files inside the start task, just for giggle i tried it, and got a different error. Now it is generic error "Failure in Operation"

here is my start task snippet, i guess the way i am defining my files inside the perl is causing this problem.

Yes - you can only have a files element on start tasks within the WFT (or WFM) - this was established long ago and did (thankfully) make its way into the documentation.

The Task Details screen provides the ability to add files to the task - so you can do it from a usertask or grouptask if you desire (issues about having to re-check whether the added files are already associated with another job is left to the developer, there's no inherent checking performed) - if you happen to be looking at a readonly task - you won't have the option to add files.

You'd have to look at the code that populates @submit_files to figure out what's happening.

BTW (I think I mentioned this once before) - if you're going to code WFTs, and you're going to use Perl (my preference definitely) - then you should really look into using the TeamSite::WFconstructor module for your WFT code - it makes life much easier (IMO) because you don't have to keep flipping around between Perl and XML syntax.

Thank you adam and andy and others i got this working, i did cheat the system though, I added a dummy external task which serves the duty of attaching the file and then sending out emails to the Job Instantiators.

I will definately keep Adams words into consideration and try to modify this using WFConstructor.
