I have a item and code of it is,

Select the appropriate Category for the News.

Here what I am trying to acheive is whenever user selects 'Product News' option select box should be setted default blank option which the form publisher adds at the top of above two options.

I am able to acheive by having a blank option as shown below,

which this item two blank options are coming one by my code and another by formpublisher.

To avoid this I don't want to have my blank option.

Any idea will help me.

I believe that TeamSite / FormsPublisher automatically adds a blank entry to the beginning of single-select lists (it's a reasonable thing to do IMO, though it would be nice to opt-out of such a feature)

Are you saying that if you do not provide your own blank option, neither does FormsPublisher - and if you do provide your own, FormsPublisher provides one too?

Beyond that, what you describe as wanting to do doesn't make sense to me - you're saying that if the user chooses option 2 (Product News) you want to have the select list set as if they didn't choose anything. Or am I misunderstanding what you are trying to do?

FormPublisher adds one blank option by default ir-respective of my own blank option. If I don't add, then there will be one which is provided by FormPublisher. If I provide one of mine, then there will be two blank options, one by my code and another one by FormPublisher.

Hence to avoid two balnk options I haven't provided any blank option. At option[0] company news is there and at option[1] product news is there. With this I can see one blank which is provided by FormPublisher.

There is a business requirement on some condition, when user chooses product news using javascript blank option should be populated in the drop down, I mean blank option of FormPublisher should appear.

I am able to acheive by having a blank option at option[0], but as I said I get two blank options one by my code and another by form publisher, which we don't want.

Is there a way to acheive this without our own blank option using FormPublisher provided blank option ? or I have to have my own blank option ?

I hope I am clear this time with my question.

Have you tried explicitly setting / resetting the list of options for the select list using FormAPI? That might get you the desired behavior (i.e.: [0]=blank, [1]=... [2]=...)
