Create DCRs through WebService

Hi,

I need to implement a new feature which requires a website to create a DCR and then deploy it to the db. A DCR is just xml, so in this case I will create an xml file and then save to the TS server and then execute a perl or javascript to run job through a webservice.

Does this make sense?

Other suggestions in how to implement this requirement?

Is there an API that would allow us to create DCRs from a DNN website directly?

Any issues you might foresee with this implementation?

Yeah, your approach make sense. I've done something similar to that before and it works fine. Just remeber to set the category/data_type EAs on the new DCRs so that you can open them up in TS later.

Alternatively, to what Chris ("CRB") pointed out, you could also use CSSDK especially that you are using a web service to create DCRs and then set EAs.

In CSSDK API doc look at the CSSimpleFile class: cssimpleFile.setExtendedAttributes(CSExtendedAttribute[] eaList);
