External task issue

Hi,

I have installed TS 6.7.1 SP1 on Solaris 10. OD 6.2

After installation, migrated the code from TS 6.1 machine which is running on Soalris 8.

We are using configurable workflow. But the external tasks are not running.

Error: cannot execute command external task for NonOS user "user_name". Use URL external tasks

I made the entry in iw.cfg
impersonate_without_password=false
disable_ext_task_impersonation=true

and restarted the services. But no luck.

Could any one help me please...

Following is my code snippet in workflow

deploy => {
name => "Deploy to DB",
description => "Deploy to DB",
type => "externaltask",
owner => $iw_areaowner,
areavpath => $iw_workarea,
command => "$IWPERL $IWHOME$DEPLOY_SCRIPT" .

Are you using non-OS users? If so, you pretty much have to abandon Perl - like using WFM instead of WFT, and XSLT instead of TPL.

If you are not using non-OS users then the question becomes why does TS think you are?

Ya ...we are using LDAP users who are non os users.

Don't we have any other solution than rewritting the wft and tpl, as this will be a huge impact on our environment.

There should have been a big caveat notice in the documentation that indicated if you use Non-OS users you have to pretty much abandon the user of Perl - and rewrite your WFTs as WFM's and rewrite your PTs and XSLTs, and rewrite your other Perl code as Java code.

It ain't fun - but it's the price you pay for using Non-OS users.
