Get approver name

Hi,

I am working on deployment workflow.I have approval process in my workflow.I have a group task to take the ownership of the task.This group task is shared by approvers and initiator.

If the initiator is taking the ownership of the task, then I will provide 'Submit For Override Approval' and 'Reject Content'

If the approver is taking the ownership of the task, then I will provide 'Approve Content For Production' and 'Reject Content'.

Issue: Iam not able to get who has taken the ownership of the task in the wft file. I need to get the approver name who has taken the ownership of the task.Based on that, I will provide options to the approver/initiator.

Please provide any suggestion/Reference to resolve the issue.

What you're suggesting is tricky at best, and potentially not possible. The ownership of the grouptask happens after the workflow has been instantiated - which means that the transitions from the grouptask have already been established before anyone takes its ownership. And you cannot dynamically add/remove transitions to an instantiated workflow.

Therefore you would always have the option to 'Submit For Override Approval', 'Approve Content For Production', and 'Reject Content' - and what you might have to do is have an externaltask after the first two that checks to see who the owner of the job is, who the owner of the grouptask was, and then determine whether the transition chosen is allowed before actually transitioning to the intended task. What you do if it's not appropriate is up to you - presumably just transition to the appropriate task for them; although if you're going to do that - why not just make a single transition (not sure of the naming) that does just that anyway and avoid the confusion of having three transitions from the grouptask.
