Are you using this script as part of a workflow?

If its the same client that we were at there is code that we put in place for the POC. That might provide you good direction on how to interact with CSSDK.

The script is "part" of the workflow in the sense that it is used to control various aspects of the workflow - but it is not called from within the workflow - it is called via iwat outside the context of the workflow.

Consider a workflow in which you have something like this:

[GroupTask]->[CGITask]->[EndTask]

and you want whomever takes ownership of the GroupTask to also be owner of the CGITask so that the CGITask will start immediately.

Using an iwat trigger script on the "TaskGroupTaken" event, you can obtain in ARGV:

What are you doing in your CGITask? Can you substitute that with an URL Task? If not, then you just need a wrapper for your Java code or perhaps inject an additional URL Task to do your CSSDK stuff and then move on to CGI Task. In any case, if you have an URL Task then do following:

1. In WFM, on that URL Task set a variable: ClassName=com.custom.CustomURLTask -- where the actual class name is whatever you are looking for.
2. Create com.custom.CustomURLTask class under UITK. This class will implement CSURLExternalTask interface (CSSDK: com.interwoven.cssdk.workflow.CSURLExternalTask)
3. In this class implement the execute method that looks something like this:

/* whatever logic you want in here */
}
4. Now when you execute the WF, the URL Task will call this task and the WF engine will pass CSClient and the Task as the first argument to the execute method.
5. To get the CSWorkflow object you can simply do: task.getWorkflow();
6. You dont have have to worry about authenticating or anything. Its all taken care of by the WF engine.

Is this what you are after?

Also just noted that you are after who took a given group task and want to use that user later in another URL Task or something...

In you URL Task's execute method (as mentioned above in my previous post) you can do something like this (see below). Based on my understanding of your requirements, I do not see a need for iwat triggers at all if you use this mechanism.

You are certainly correct, it is not interactive. "ExternalTask with URL" is just a decent metaphor though. WF Parameters are passed to the
'exec' Method (for you to implement) of CSURLExternalTask Interface, transition mechanism differs etc...

This URL Task will figure out who took the Group Task and set the same user on the CGI Task and then immediately transition to CGI Task. My earlier post provides how to obtain the user who took the Group Task and you'll just have to add a few additional lines to set that same user as the owner on the CGI Task.

Basically, you end up injecting additional task but IMHO its a cleaner solution than iwat trigger plus you are completely within the WF Engine framework. So my $0.02!

Unless URLTasks provide some new magic that wasn't available before - the injection of the URLTask between the GroupTask and CGITask would prevent the CGITask from being able to run immediately - and therefore not provide a satisfactory result.

I don't believe I ever got a Java / CSSDK iwat trigger script working - and I ran into issues with the Perl-based one, on Windows, since somewhere around the 6.7x days apparently users needed to have logon locally privileges in order for the iwat trigger to be properly invoked (perhaps it was always this way, but I didn't notice it until trying to do a 6.7.2 SP2 implementation)
