Hi,

Is it possible to deploy the content to the same server where teasmite is installed ?

I am trying to deploy one file using OD script, where source and target are the same but it is giving message as "Failed".

Have you checked odbase.xml? what are the allowed target directories defined there? Your target is there?
Also check the xxxx_odbase.log for detailed information and share it.

yes, target path is already present in odbase.xml under allowed directories.

In the log file, information regarding deployment information is not available, like src, target, odconfig file etc. A warning is logged which is:

CFG: 2008-10-29 03:02:16 EST GMT-05:00 ***WARNING - followLinks attribute of the transferRules element has been DISCONTINUED and is ignored. This will become an ERROR in the next major release of OpenDeploy.

So i suggest you that there is an example odconfig file test.xml in od-home/conf directory, try to use this file in the workflow for deployment.
If it is deploying all ther files from \\iw-home\OpenDeployNG\userlib to \\iw-home\OpenDeployNG\tmp, then OD is fine and problem with your odconfig file otherwise there would be problem with OD.

So check it.

When you say "source and target" are the same - you mean the server, not the server and directory (source area, target area) - right? And the target area is either the local disk or a TS Workarea (not a branch, STAGING, EDITION, or the "WORKAREA" folder itself) - right?

Assuming the above - yes, it's trivial: OOTB you should have a MyLocalHost or some such node defined in the odnodes.xml file, and as long as you define the target path in the AllowedHosts / AllowedDirectories section of your odbase.xml file - and restarted the OD server after making that change - you should not have problems doing a loop-back deployment.

If all of the above have been covered - and you're still having problems - you'd have to look at the log files from the deployment. If you still can't figure it out from there - you'll have to post them here for us to look at them.
