datadeploy fails for long datatype

I am using LONG datatype for deploying the contents to Oracle.
When I deploy contents, it gives me following error if contents is large.
Otherwise it works fine for small size contents.



Exception Message: Data size bigger than max size for this type: 7052
Vendor Error Code: 17070
SQL state: null

Any solution?

Use CLOB instead of LONG. Oracle recommends the same, if I remember correct. I forget the reasoning behind it though.
